At Bordon Infant school we teach phonics through the scheme Read Write Inc.

Read Write Inc (RWI) is a reading and writing programme that teaches phonics to enable children to read. We explicitly teach children how to read English and also what the writing means (comprehension). RWI is a consistent approach across the school where all children are taught using the same reading strategies whatever their ability. All of our staff are trained to use the same language and resources so children feel secure in their groups.

How to pronounce the sounds

The PowerPoint documents below tell you how to form each of the sounds we teach at school. They are large documents so we have split them into 6 sections. These are not the order we teach the children in.
